"An old piece of mine (early 70's), originally intended to be a portrait/homage to Sidney Bechet. It has been played in many different ways, by myself and others.
The dynamics are the principal subject here. It is very difficult to achieve clarity, consistency, balance, pitch, without loss or distortion of the musical statement."
